Southern Indiana is an art lover’s dream! From murals to statues to galleries, you’ll find inspiration everywhere. Check out the NoCo Arts & Cultural District –– Jeffersonville’s art hub – the out-of-this-world Space Cats mural in Downtown New Albany, or strike a pose with the Rosie the Riveter statue overlooking the Ohio River in Clarksville. You can see all of these and more when you sign up for the Inspired SoIN passport.

Check in at 10 locations on the passport to earn a custom print by Graphic Designer, Illustrator and SoIN native Matthew Clinard.

While exploring some of the most artistic and vibrant stops in Southern Indiana, you’ll earn entries into our "SoIN to Art" grand prize drawing which includes an art party for 10 at Viva Art with catering from Union GameYard and Restaurant.

Art Garden Jeffersonville
A small slice of paradise hides in plain sight along the corner of W. Chestnut and Spring Streets in Jeffersonville. Filled with whimsical works of art, brick paths, and many spots for a photo op, checking out this pocket garden is a must.
Monarch Educational Gardens at the Arts Alliance of Southern Indiana
The Arts Alliance of Southern Indiana’s Monarch Educational Gardens (MEG) offers an accessible, tranquil community space dedicated to environmental education and stewardship. The garden features a loop path surrounded by raised beds filled with monarch-friendly plants like zinnias, verbena, salvia, and milkweed—essential for the monarch butterfly's lifecycle. Along the path, visitors can engage with educational activities that highlight the importance of monarchs in our ecosystem. Additionally, MEG includes a garden for carnivorous plants, a crafted wetland, and a little free library, making it a vibrant hub for natural science learning in Southern Indiana.

Bark Jeff Indiana
Adorable pups wrap all around the doggy daycare center Bark Jeff in Jeffersonville. The bright colors and happy dogs welcome you to stop by and take a pic. Maybe even bring your own pup to enjoy the uplifting artwork by Often Seen Rarely Spoken.
Bourne-Schweitzer Art Alley
With over a dozen different works of art, this alley next to the Bourne-Schweitzer Art Gallery is a unique, rotating exhibit. The pieces created by local artists are painted directly on the walls of the alley and are a part of the PUMP (Paste Up Mural Project) project. The murals are set to change every year, so be sure not to miss them!

Cheese Fork
A wacky, cheesy, and seemingly delicious cheese and fork statue sits right in the heart of Downtown New Albany. While it may look tasty, the statue is just a work of art. After you snap a pic, make sure to check out any of the amazing restaurants nearby.
Chefs' Mural
MESA, a Collaborative Kitchen, is home to this heartwarming mural. Six world-renowned chefs, including Anthony Bourdain, who the mural is dedicated to, as well as Jamie Oliver, Emeril Lagasse, Mashama Bailey, Nancy Silverton, and Julia Child are featured along with quotes to make up the inspirational piece. While you’re there, stop inside MESA for cookware or to check out the latest business occupying their incubator space. You might even catch one of their famous live dinner shows from the windows!

Claysburg Mural
Honoring Claysburg, a historically black neighborhood in Jeffersonville, this mural was created with the goal of instilling peace in the community, empowering the black community, and promoting the community garden it overlooks. Examine the mural and explore the rich history of this neighborhood.
Flood Wall Murals
Painted along the flood walls are a collection of murals that showcase different parts of the region's history. With dozens of different pieces containing historical figures to old buildings and even maps, the murals are a fascinating sight to explore.
Cultural Arts Center
The Floyd County Carnegie Library Cultural Arts Center is one of Southern Indiana’s cultural cornerstones. Housed in New Albany’s original library building, the Cultural Arts Center has ongoing exhibits about the history of the Underground Railroad in the region and the remarkable life story of celebrated Civil War nurse Lucy Higgs Nichols. The Center also features rotating exhibitions of contemporary local, national, and international art in a wide range of visual mediums, as well as many opportunities for hands-on learning.



As a branch of the Floyd County Library, the Cultural Arts Center supports the growth and creativity of an engaged, informed, and connected community. Those tenets form the basis of the Cultural Arts Center’s creation of quality programming for both youth and adults. Admission is always free as part of our dedication to community accessibility and inclusivity. Plastered along the side of local, long-time business Schmitt Furniture, this mural represents the natural beauty of SoIN. Local wildlife, iconic landmarks, and a gorgeous color palette make this modern masterpiece a staple of New Albany’s downtown.
Harvest Homecoming Mural
This quirky mural showcases all that SoIN loves about Harvest Homecoming, New Albany’s annual festival filled with fall fun. From a parade to pumpkin chunking, to carnival rides and crafts, the festival has it all, and the painting captures everything we love about this Southern Indiana tradition.
James Howard Mural
Stop by the Clark County Museum for stories of the region's history, both inside and out! A new mural, located on the side of the museum in Jeffersonville’s NoCo Arts & Cultural District, features James Howard, a pivotal early settler of Jeffersonville who founded a thriving shipyard at 19. Painted by Riley Gregor of StraightEdge Creative, the mural blends vintage styles with modern techniques, creating a vibrant and textured piece that spans about 100 feet by 20 feet.

Lewis and Clark Handshake Statue
This historic statue recently celebrated the 20th anniversary of its installation at the Falls of the Ohio State Park. The statue, sculpted by late artist Carol Grende, marks the location where Lewis and Clark began their partnership ahead of their famous expedition. It honors the explorers as well as Stephan E. Ambrose, a historian and author who was dedicated to studying Lewis and Clark. See the statue in all of its glory and learn some history as well.

Music lovers won’t want to miss this epic mural along the side of Maxwell’s House of Music in Jeffersonville. With guitars, keyboards, and bass strung together through a colorful galaxy of paint, this mural is a must-see!
NoCo Arts & Cultural District
NoCo is Jeffersonville’s art hub! With 22 acres to explore NOrth of COurt Avenue, the arts district has many intriguing outdoor masterpieces, which are free to view 24/7. From the refurbished water tank to the Story Trail and exterior walls of the community arts center, NoCo is a creative wonder.
Opera Singer
This massive mural by artist Carrie Johns remembers the New Albany Opera House that once occupied this building. Built in 1866, the building played a huge part in SoIN history, and this stunning mural keeps that history alive. See the singing lady immersed in flowers, butterflies and more along the side of the Wine Shop.
Paddle Wheel
This giant paddle-wheel sculpture known formally as “Circum” was created by artists Quincy Owens and Luke Crawley in 2019. Seated right along the Ohio River, the sculpture even glows a beautiful blue at night!
RecBar Mural
“Be excellent to each other.” Bill and Ted’s mantra is boldly featured along the side of a SoIN classic spot, RecBar 812. The retro artwork is a great place to snap a pic before or after having some fun at this arcade and restaurant featuring more than 100 arcade games, 70 pinball machines and delicious food.
Rosie
This iconic statue standing in Clarksville’s Ashland Park honors Rose Will Monroe, one of the original four “Rosie the Riveters”. The piece is a reminder to us all that “We Can Do It!” Capture the moment with a photo, enjoy the scenic views along the river and take a stroll along the Ohio River Greenway.
Southern Indiana Visitor Center Postcard Mural
Greetings from…Southern Indiana! This eye-catching mural painted along the side of the Southern Indiana Visitor Center features some of SoIN's iconic landmarks within the lettering. Be sure to stop inside for a chat with one of our knowledgeable travel counselors and to grab some SoIN gear.
Space Cats Mural
Created by local artist David Thrasher, the mural juxtaposes evergreen trees with futuristic kitties against a pale blue background. While shopping or dining in Downtown New Albany, stop by to get a selfie with the out-of-this-world felines.
Super Kid
The sky’s the limit at this mural created in honor of Skyler, a young boy with autism. Along the side of Bella Roma, an Italian restaurant in Downtown New Albany, the Super Kid mural is a comic-book-style slice of inspiration for young people. Intended to advocate for autism awareness, it is a reminder to ALL kids that they can be anything they want, even a superhero.

The Lady (metal sculpture)
This 21-foot metal statue stands gracefully looking over Jeffersonville. Seemingly coming out of nowhere, the Metal Lady statue is a sight that you can’t miss while in SoIN. Created in the mid 1980s by Floyds Knobs’ artist Carl Elwanger, the artwork is also known as “Winds of Change,” which ties into an inscription on a sign by the statue. Stop by to observe this mysterious sculpture.
