Set your sights on SoIN! See some of the best views along the Ohio River, walk in the footsteps of the Lewis & Clark expedition, explore 390-million-year-old fossils and hike some (or all) of Indiana’s longest trail. You can do all of this and more when you sign up for the Scenic SoIN passport.

While exploring some of the most scenic stops in Southern Indiana, you’ll earn entries into our grand prize drawing. Check-in at 10 locations on the passport to earn a custom print by Graphic Designer, Illustrator and SoIN native Matthew Clinard.

Origin Park / Croghan Paddling Launch
For spectacular views of the Ohio River and Indiana’s natural beauty, check out Clarksville’s Origin Park. The first amenities of this future 420-acre public park are now open, including the Croghan Paddling Launch, a canoe launch and fishing access, and Mill Creek Trail, a trail winding through the woods and wetlands.
Ohio River Greenway
The Ohio River Greenway is 7.5 miles of paved pathway that runs alongside the Ohio River. Soak up some sun with a morning jog or an afternoon bike ride along the water’s edge. The picturesque views alone will calm and relax you. On your walk or ride, stop at Ashland Park in Clarksville along the Greenway for a beautiful view of Louisville’s skyline. Don’t forget to bring your camera!

New Albany Mansion Row
Take in the scenic architecture of historic downtown New Albany's Mansion Row on Main Street. Stretching from the State Street intersection through 15th Street, the row is sprinkled with historic, and sometimes colorful, gems including Culbertson Mansion State Historic Site, a Victorian-era mansion built in the late 1800s. The Culbertson offers tours showcasing the inside of the historically preserved home and year-round events. Keep an eye out for additional historical markers along Mansion Row to learn more about past residents.

Mount Saint Francis Sanctuary
Enjoy the Mount Saint Francis Sanctuary's beautiful 400 acres of hiking trails. Walking paths make it easy for individuals or small groups to explore the woods, lake, and creeks. Rest at one of the several benches or shrines along the paths.
Loop Island Wetlands
Along the Ohio River Greenway in New Albany, you'll find the Woodland Loop Trail and a national wildlife conservation area. Stroll the grounds, find a nearby picnic spot, then watch for the birds that frequent the river’s edge like oriole, heron, kingfisher and majestic bald eagles.
Jeffersonville Riverfront
Water, its sounds and views create feelings of calm and peace. See some of the best views of the Ohio River along Jeffersonville's riverfront! With some of the best overlooks in the region, from spots like Duffy’s Landing and Fisherman's Wharf, you can catch a beautiful sunrise or drop a line in the Ohio. Enjoy dinner at one of many restaurants along Riverside Drive and Downtown Jeffersonville, including Harry's Taphouse and Kitchen, Cluckers and Ramiro's Cantina.

Ashland Park / Rosie The Riveter Statue
Along the Ohio River Greeway, stop at Ashland Park for a picnic at the region's best spot for Louisville skyline views. The park's newest resident, a Rosie the Riveter statue, commemorates a Clarksville resident who was one of the women who inspired the Rosie the Riveter icon. Take your picture beside Rosie against the Louisville skyline backdrop! Then, check to see if Widow’s Walk Ice Creamery is open for a sweet treat.

Joe Huber's Family Farm & Restaurant

Enjoy a full day of family fun in the beautiful farm setting of Joe Huber’s! Admission to the Barnyard is free and includes access to the 40-foot tunnel slide, Tiny Tot’s Play Set, swings and a relaxing hammock area. Don’t miss their brand-new Corn Pit Play Area— free of charge and located behind the Gift Shop. Visit Huber’s Orchard, Winery and Vineyards, with its views of rolling hills, orchards and vineyards. While there, check out the farmer’s market, a dairy shop with homemade cheese and ice cream, tour Huber Winery or Starlight Distillery and enjoy seasonal features like their Christmas tree farm and pumpkin patch. Some of the best views include the vineyards and the gorgeous pond.

Falls of the Ohio State Park
There’s nothing like admiring the beauty of a city's skyline while feeling removed from its fast pace. With some of the best views of the Ohio River and Louisville skyline, look no further than Falls of the Ohio State Park. The Devonian-era fossil beds are some of the oldest in the world. Listen to the Ohio River rushing through the dam, catch glimpses of wildlife on family-friendly trails, and watch the sun set from the deck of the park’s Interpretive Center. Note: Parking at Falls of the Ohio State Park is $2 per vehicle. The Interpretive Center is open Mondays - Saturdays 9:00 am to 5:00 pm and Sundays 1:00 - 5:00 pm. Deam Lake State Recreation Area / Knobstone Trail
Part of Clark State Forest is Deam Lake State Recreation Area where visitors can hike, fish, boat, camp and picnic. The forest also provides access to the Knobstone Trail, the longest trail in Indiana. Many use this trail as a training ground for the Appalachian Trail! Note: Cost to enter is $7 for in state residents and $9 for those visiting from out of state. Admission is free with an annual state park permit from the Indiana Department of Natural Resources.

Take in a gorgeous sunset from the New Albany Amphitheater, watching the light fade behind the Sherman Minton bridge. Add dinner to your peaceful evening by stopping at one of several restaurants with incredible patios that are within walking distance, such as Floyd County Brewing Company, Pints&union, The Exchange, and more.
Big Four Station Park / Bridge
Bike, walk, run or scoot across the Ohio River on the Big Four Pedestrian Bridge, a 1-mile trip from Jeffersonville’s Big Four Station Park to Louisville’s Waterfront Park (2-mile round trip). Walk the bridge during the day to watch mighty river barges pass underneath. At night, feel the breeze as you gaze at Louisville’s spectacular city lights shining on the water. Bicycle rentals are available at LouVelo bike sharing stations, including one located on Riverside Drive in Jeffersonville.

Clark State Forest

Clark State Forest is Indiana’s oldest Department of Natural Resources property, established in the early 20th century. Originally known as the State Forest Reservation and Experiment Station, it was created to grow trees and explore the best methods for helping them thrive. Today, that mission continues—and has expanded. Clark State Forest now actively manages forest resources year-round while offering various recreational opportunities, including camping, fishing, hiking and more.
