Painted upon a Clarksville apartment complex, this mural by Carrie Johns illustrates the transformation of dreams into reality. The airplane motif pays tribute to the site's history as a former airstrip. It follows the journey of a paper airplane being tossed, flying through different scenes and eventually turning into a real airplane.
This mural painted by Carrie Johns upon the Floyd County Token Club celebrates the city's shoreline. Titled "Just Around the River Bend," the design incorporates elements like the city’s new boat ramp, Silver Creek Bridge, the New Albany Riverfront Amphitheater, native wildlife, and people enjoying local recreational activities. The mural features a young skateboarder – a tribute to her late brother who was a regular at New Albany Flow Park. His youthful spirit and passion for life inspired Carrie’s dedication to pursuing a career in art. The mural is dedicated to his memory.
"Transformation," was painted by Carrie Johns to convey how much the north end of New Albany has grown over the years. It reflects the journey from the days of the old Monon Station to the new wing at the high school and the many new businesses now thriving in the area. The hands releasing an origami butterfly, which then transforms into real butterflies, symbolize that growth and transformation, turning dreams into reality.
